Iota Foundation announced the arrival of two new members to their development team. The announcement released on their IOTA blog Sam Chen and Marwen Trabelsi.

Iota (MIOTA) is currently trading at $0.7242 USD as it placed tenth on the market capitalization ranking.

Sam Chen

Sam Chen is a software engineer with a Bachelor of Science with a specialty in computer science. The Taiwan-based tech guru will join the Iota Foundation team in his capacity with an aim to develop and build the Tangle pushing it to the next step.

Having studied electronic engineering in high school, Sam developed a liking for technology. The engineer has for the past decade been on the trail of software architecture and performance analysis. Furthermore he is experienced in embedded systems, the Android framework, and software integration which has pushed him towards developing internet of things such as smart televisions for the IC design companies.

“My passion lies in IoT. After reading the IOTA Whitepaper, I believe IOTA can take IoT to a further state. Based on The Tangle, IoT devices can communicate with each other in a more secure way. Though I am new to distributed ledger technologies, I am eager to contribute and realize the promise of IoT. I am glad to join the IOTA Foundation and work with smart people around the world.”

Marwen Trabelsi

Iota Foundation added another software engineer to their team, Marwen Trabelsi, a graduate from High Institute of Computer Science (Institut supérieur d’Informatique) in Tunis. The CEO of Iota Foundation, David Sønstebø, was ecstatic in his letter of introduction by an engineer who has worked in several tech firms including a top IoT firm. Trabelsi has worked in the field since 2014 with open source systems such as BitTorrent and decentralized ledgers. On his remarks on what working for IOTA means for him, he said,

“I came into this field as I was interested in building a game on top of a distributed ledger ecosystem. I compared all of the available systems at that time, and none suited my use case. I discovered the IOTA Tangle and found that it may solve the issues I saw with traditional blockchains. Therefore I decided to use IOTA as a low level protocol for my game (the website of which will be made available soon).

I have been following the IOTA twitter account for over a year. At one point I decided to be part of the innovation — not just a user.”
